This tool allows you to search within a genome for short DNA sequence patterns,
such as a binding site consensus sequence. You can use any
IUPAC code,
so Ns, Rs, Ys etc. are allowed. Multipliers are contained in parentheses, so you
can say A(14), which means a run of 14 As, or A(5 15) which means between 5 and
15 As. Square brackets indicate classes, so [AT] means either A or T. You can
also have negatated classes (indicated by braces), so {AT} means neither A nor
T. This tool uses the program
